These girls….I felt right at home at Café Ubuntu almost immediately, thanks to this extended family that was created. Not only were we able to play around in the kitchen, experimenting with recipes, learning about farm-to-table concepts, honing knife skills, and having some epic dance-while-you-work parties, we were also able to get to know each other as friends. We even threw our first brunch event thanks to the additional support of a few local partners (Brown's Cheese, Pop-Up Nairobi, and Cookswell Jikos), which was able to raise funds for CTC's Malaika Kids program. The hope is that this can become a regular feature at the cafe, and continue to attract customers from far and wide; offering up tasty menu items that feature items from the farm here.
This team has learned a lot in a very short time and I’m so proud to have been able to be a small part of that. Café UBUNTU is on the brink of something great, and I am so excited to see this team further excel!
